“It's not just the making of babies, but the making of mothers that midwives see as the miracle of birth.”

Meet the Midwives
MIDWIFE
Stacy
Prior to becoming a Midwife I worked for 11 years as an RN in a variety of settings, primarily in a small rural hospital supporting women was where my love for maternity care developed.
My passion for birth led me to connect with local midwives who were working tirelessly to improve access to informed and supportive maternity care.
Seeing a different model of care than in the medical system was inspiring and I quickly felt a strong calling to Midwifery. I began my journey at Frontier Nursing University, where I completed my Masters Degree in nursing and certified as a Nurse-Midwife. I then returned to Alberta to support the growth of rural midwifery.
My husband and I have 2 children and every day I am grateful to be encouraged by my family to follow my calling.

I was raised in the prairies of Alberta and started my journey into the birthing community as a doula in 2004.
I graduated from Laurentian University's midwifery program in 2010, and since then my career has been divided between Alberta and Africa. I worked in Edmonton for 5 years, and have spent 5 years working in hospitals in rural Tanzania. I value the experience of working in both settings as it allows me to appreciate the experience of birthing and the role of a midwife with a wider lens.
I am a certified lactation consultant, and really enjoy helping families find the feeding solutions that work for them. I also love making soap, growing fresh food, travel, and spending time with family.
I am so pleased to be back in Alberta, working side by side with prairie families!

I
My passion for midwifery stems from a deep belief in the beauty and normalcy of birth. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be involved in a helping profession in some capacity. When I discovered midwifery, it immediately became clear to me that this was what I was meant to do.
The privilege of being invited into a birth journey is unlike any other, and I feel honoured to be included such profound experiences.
I was born and raised in southern Alberta, before spending several years in Calgary completing my degree at Mount Royal University. As a student I had the opportunity to work in many different communities, and discovered a love for rural midwifery. I am so grateful to be close to home again, joining the incredible group of midwives at Cherry Blossom

Chalisse
Hello! My name is Chalisse Lowry. I grew up in Calgary, Alberta, and moved to Southern Alberta with my young family in 2015. I fell in love with the midwifery profession while pregnant with my third baby. Through the support of midwives, I learned that pregnancy and birth are foundational experiences that can create confident, empowered parents and strengthen families. I knew I wanted to be part of this profession and help bring more families access to the same quality of care I was so fortunate to receive.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Midwifery in 2020 through the Midwives College of Utah. Throughout my training and practice, I have had the privilege of attending births in Washington, Utah, Montana, Haiti, and here in Canada.
Outside of midwifery, I love to spend time with my family. My husband and I have five beautiful children, and our lively home is filled with music, laughter, and a healthy dose of chaos. I love trying new hobbies and learning new skills, but quilting remains my favourite pastime.
I am truly pleased to offer care to families in Southern Alberta. I am passionate about informed choice and strive to support your innate wisdom and decision-making with my knowledge and experience. I look forward to meeting you!
